Bacon in the Sun Oven is super easy. It’s a great way to cook bacon without
smelling up the whole house, and without getting grease spatter all over
your stove.

Solar oven bacon strips

When cooking bacon in the Sun Oven, it’s rare to get grease spatter anywhere.
But if you do, a quick wipe is all it takes to clean.

As for what to cook the bacon in, it’s up to you. Some people will use a
small baking pan and lay the strips in that. The bacon then cooks in its own
juices—like a traditional cook in a skillet.

Other people like to put the bacon on top of a cooling rack. Either on a
baking pan or in one of the Double Stacked Pots. This way gives you a lower
calorie, but still crisp, slice of bacon.

Directions on Bacon in the Sun Oven

  1. Set Sun Oven out to preheat. Preheating is key for crisp bacon.
  2. Lay the bacon strips out so they are not overlapping.
  3. Cooking time depends upon how hot the Sun Oven is, but if it’s at
around 325 on a clear day it takes about 30 minutes. 35-40 minutes
    at 300 degrees.
